Biglime is an identity which symbolises the sense of fun, full of life approach to design, something fresh that is added to the mix. The person behind this identity is Anthony Barker from the United Kingdom. A BA(Hons) Graduate, Graphic Designer for over eight years and a Freelancer for three. Formally known as Happy Accidents back in 1999, the name Biglime was created by two like minded individuals who decided to work on a local project away from our full time employment. The name given to this project was ‘Biglime’ and the domain name was soon signed up. After a few months very little had been done on the project as both of us were committed to other jobs, this soon led to the project fading away, time of death July 2001.
It was nearly a year till the name of Biglime was resurrected when I decided to leave my fulltime employment of two years working for Europes leading E-Learning Company Epic Group plc and go Freelance in the summer of 2002. Biglime was the name I was going to be identified by and a brand and identity was needed...
My love of commercial Japanese design was the main influence of not only my work but Biglime’s identity also. What symbol or image could sum up the fun and full of life approach to design no better then a smiling face, this was soon to be the creative beginnings of Biglime's logo. After many concepts and tweaking the logo was complete, though I couldn't have estimated how much to was going be developed...
